This craft room had gradually become an overflow storage space, housing a wide variety of items alongside numerous craft collections. As a result, the room was no longer usable for crafting, and materials had spilled into the living room, meaning neither room was serving its intended purpose.
Together, we worked through every single item. This process uncovered several unfinished projects, as well as others that had never been started. The client chose to let go of certain crafts they no longer wished to pursue, enabling these materials to be donated and enjoyed by others.
The client already owned a great selection of Really Useful Boxes, which we organised into clearly defined categories and themes, then labelled accordingly. This system will make it much easier to locate and return items at the beginning and end of each project. It also supports more mindful purchasing, reducing the need for new materials until existing supplies are used and duplicate purchasing which saves time, space and money.
The room now features a clear worktable and a well-organised creative area, allowing the craft room to once again be used for its intended and enjoyable purpose
